The SAT Subject Tests, previously known as the SAT II tests, are different than the SAT itself. They are 20 multiple choice 1 hour-long, content-based standardized tests that allow a student to demonstrate their knowledge level in specific subject areas they excel. Some of these subject areas range from Math, U.S. History, Literature, Biology and Chemistry to specific foreign languages such as Spanish, French and Modern Hebrew. Each individual test is scored on a scale from 200 – 800. The SAT Subject Tests are required or recommended by many colleges for admission and placement. Based on a student’s performance on the test(s), they could potentially fulfill basic requirements or receive credit for introductory-level courses.
